As the people’s museum, we believe in the empowerment of the young and are committed to inspiring young and curious minds through art. To further spread the imaginative power of art to more children, we have collaborated with our friends from The Groninger Museum (Netherlands) and Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Germany) to bring the spirit of Gallery Children’s Biennale around the globe!

The Groninger Museum will hold the Dutch premiere of the Children’s Biennale – KINDERBIËNNALE in June 2021, realised in collaboration with National Gallery Singapore – featuring 3 artworks from Gallery Children's Biennale 2019! With the theme ‘Landscapes of Wonder’, the KINDERBIËNNALE transforms 11 rooms into a festival-like immersive experience filled with interactive art from international and local artists. What's more, the exhibition is co-curated and planned with the help of Groningen children, encouraging a two-way exchange of learning and sharing and an open dialogue between the museum and its audiences.

Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD) collaborated with National Gallery Singapore in 2018 to organise Europe’s first Children’s Biennale – Kinderbiennale. Echoing the theme of “Dreams and Stories,” the SKD partnership resulted into the commissioning of works by three of the artists from our first edition in 2017. This marked the start of a 5-year partnership to explore other possible avenues for collaboration in the exhibition and programming space. The Gallery and SKD are working together on the second edition of the Kinderbiennale “Embracing Nature” scheduled in September 2021.
